Such regular visits hold an extra advantage in that the chiropractor will know the athlete's complete case history in case there is ever a need for treatment of a sports injury. A person who is seeking amateur status will probably need to seek a sponsor to help meet such expenses.

The central element in any athletic training program is exercise. The athlete should practice the specific skills of his or her sport every day. For each individual sport, specific muscles will need extra attention.
