The third series of conducted analyses were inferential rather than descriptive in nature. These consisted of the computation of five analyses of variance (and subsequent specific comparison tests) examining whether each life area load/power ratio significantly differed as a function of age differences. The findings observed for all conducted analyses of variance are presented in Table 7. As the table shows, there were two main effects observed: (1) a main effect for Health (F = 13.23; p<.00); and (2) a main effect for Parenting Satisfaction (F = 3.49; p = .03).
Specific comparison tests were conducted to determine the precise nature of the observed main effects. Regarding the life area of Health, these analyses revealed that women who were 40+ years (Mean = .38) had significantly higher load/power ratios than either women between 30 and 30 years (Mean = .34) or women between 20 and 29 years (Mean = .32). Further, the load/power ratios of women between 30 and 39 years were significantly higher than the load/power ratios of women between 20 and 29 years. In other words, load/power ratios in the life area of health clearly increase with age.
With respect to the main effect for Parenting Satisfaction, specific comparison tests revealed no differences between the load/power ratios of women between 20 and 29 years of age (Mean = .17) and women between 20 and 39 years of age (Mean = .16).
