In conclusion, the budget crisis in California is symptomatic of the budget crises faced by the federal government. Deficit spending and ineffective government policies that aid states who spend a significant amount of resources on illegal immigrants have resulted in a lack of funding for higher education. Such policies are not only unwise but they lead to further deterioration of the quality of education for those students who will be fortunate enough to attend in light of higher tuition fees and less financial aid availability. For those who cannot attend because of such poor public management, officials risk, by such policies, losing an entire generation of productive individuals who cannot gain the educational skills needed to succeed in future.
