Depending on the amount consumed, alcohol has a number of psychological responses as well. Little to moderate consumption within a party environment can induce a feeling of pleasantness, good times, warmth and camaraderie. Continuing into heavy drinking brings on tiredness and depression, again, depending on the emotional state of the drinker. Further, a state of heavy alcoholic consumption can lead to expressions of anger and frustration, each having their own social consequence.

On the other hand, sexual desire is a very delicate thing. It is easily influenced by many factors, including both physical and emotional, as well as sexual and non-sexual. Physical factors include diseases which may cause discomfort or interfere with movement or drugs such as alcohol and street drugs, drugs to control blood pressure, antispasmodics, antihistamines, tranquilizers, sleeping medications, and pain relievers (Goldsmith, 1986, p. 24).

Emotional factors related to sexual stimulation that can cause anxiety include job insecurity or financial problems or anything that would lead to anger such as trying to make love to an uninterested partner. Depression also plays a major role in
