Our culture tends toward a rigid, conditioned belief that all people understand and interpret experiences in the same way. Incorrect assumptions regarding how others perceive, believe, and hope to live their lives cause divorce, parent-child conflict, racial tension, addiction, depression, and employment difficulties.

While it is recognized that it is not possible to resolve all the problems of society with one instrument, it is important to note that various creative combinations of available tools and techniques can greatly enhance positive change in individuals, relationships, and families. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is an effective, easily usable tool for enabling individuals to identify and develop greater sensitivity towards themselves and others in the area of differing perception and judgement preferences. Insights regarding these various perspectives can greatly ease miscommunication difficulties in families, resulting in better relationships between parents and children. It is important to identify and embrace our differences in order to better communicate, problem-solve, and nurture each other.
