However, that does not dispose of the fact that jobs are specifically being outsourced from the US. Outsourced work from America has been received from Mexico, India, Poland, and the Philippines (Drezner, 2004). According to Drezner, such arrangements have enabled democratic reforms and institutionalization to proceed apace in such countries. Drezner also says that so-called "in-sourced" jobs have been created in the US as a consequence of US outsourcing. Further, some US companies that have engaged in outsourcing actually reversed such policy. Drezner cites Dell, a computer manufacturer, and Lehman, a financial-services firm, in that regard. That impact appears to have been a function of the realization of the negative perception of outsourced services on one hand and the realization of the "hidden costs of offshore outsourcing" on the other (Drezner, 2004, p. 4). In other words, part of the impact of outsourcing as a concept is a function of companies' desire to be in line with the latest trends in business processes. The realities of outsourcing as a business practice seem to leaven the impact of the phenomenon.
