According to Whitehead, God in effect has two natures: There is the Primordial nature, and that accounts for the universe and creation being the way it is rather than in some other possible way. There is also God's Consequent nature, which Whitehead uses to explain the problem of evil. When it comes to this side of God's nature (God's relation to good and evil), Whitehead (1927) says that it is finite and not endowed with the kind of omnipotent power that traditional theologians reserve for it:
