This publication's basic strength is that it provides data showing cultural contribution to children's psychological problems and corresponding clinic referral patterns and illustrates that regardless of philosophy or religion, there can be problematic psychology. The authors studied Thailand, a Buddhist nation, in which children's aggression and other undercontrolled behaviors are disapproved and discouraged, whereas their inhibition and other overcontrolled behaviors are often be condoned or even encouraged.
