n their analysis of the issue with reference to a survey of adolescents measuring their awareness of health risk. In this study, the researchers evaluated responses from 11,652 high school students on two questions as predictors of high mental health risk (i.e., "Life is never worth living" and "I never have any emotional support available"). Subjects who agreed with the statements were found to take proportionately more and greater risks than subjects who did not agree with the statements. By combining responses, a typology of a more vulnerable, higher risktaking subgroup of students could be identified, and this data could be used as a predictor of risk behavior when measuring the psychological makeup of students and to help these students reduce their risk by a change in attitude.
