In the developmental process of organizational computerization, conflicts often occur, as a result of an absence of recognition or of a failure by management to effectively deal with user related problems. Performance failures and lack of user acceptance of computerization often occur, as a result of failures to effectively resolve conflicts arising in the developmental process.
The user concerns most likely to manifest themselves as problematic situations are that (1) computerization will make the individual redundant in the organizational process being addressed, (2) that implementation of computerization will cause a deterioration in the status as persons of the individuals within an organization (Sacchi, 1984), and (3) computerization will result in increased health risks for individuals working directly with computers.
