Results of a Study on Stress and Work

This study investigated the relationship between the weighted level of stress experienced by an individual and changes in individual work performance. The result of the research performed are reported in this chapter. The Data

Data were collected with respect to life change events and production output levels for the 97 members of the research sample. In each instance, data were collected at two separate time points, although the time points were not the same for the two sets of data. LCU ratings were derived from the life change events experienced by the members of the research sample, and changes in the LCU ratings between the two time points were calculated. Production unit output data per hour were also obtained for each member of the research sample, and changes in production output per hour between the two time points were calculated. The LCU data are presented in table 1, which may be found beginning on the following page. Production unit output data are presented in table 2, and this table may be found beginning on page 35.Research Findings

Research question number one asked the following: Is there a relationship between the weighted level of stress experienced by an individual and changes in the work productivity of that individual, and, if so, what is the nature of the relationship?
