Analogy

Cajoling a cat into doing something is like getting a girl to give you a kiss, they must be spoiled, pampered, flattered, and gently rebuffed in order to get the desired behavior you want. Whether one owns a cat or merely makes the acquaintance of one, persuading it to do something you want is as difficult as winning a kiss from a girl you like. If you own the animal you may be more familiar with its quirks, idiosyncrasies, and other patterns of behavior which allow you to persuade it more effectively than a stranger. For example, if you know your cat likes shrimp treats but does not like to be held in your lap, if you give her a treat every time you put it on your lap you will be more likely to have it get up on your lap when you want it to because of its belief it will receive a treat for doing so. It also helps if you entice the cat by telling it how lovely, pretty, and beautiful it is while you are trying to get it to bestow some lap time on you. Between the verbal flattery and the behavioral “rewards” training, more than likely you will get the cat to visit your lap more often than if you just grab it, insist it sits on your lap, and do little to flatter or pamper it.

When it comes to getting a kiss from a girl that you really like, your chances of success, like with the cat and lap sitting, are much better if you use flattery, pampering, and behavioral “rewards.” If you just go up to a girl, tell her you like her, and then plant a long, wet kiss on her, chances are you will be rebuffed, possible slapped, and maybe worse. It is the rare woman who will respond immediately to such an approach though they do exist. However, just like the typical cat who will not perform on command, a woman is much more likely to kiss her if you know her idiosyncrasies. For example, if a woman loves white wine, chocolates, and evenings by the fire, then you buy some Chablis, throw a few logs on the fire, and
