Internet Versus Traditional Advertising

Atlantis Paradise Island Resort and Casino

Internet Versus Traditional Advertising

The Bahamas have suffered in the recent past because of declining tourism due to a host of factors, including pollution and a decaying infrastructure. However, those problems have been eliminated during the 1980s and once again the Bahamas is seeing record numbers of tourists arrive. In 1995, “3.23 million foreign tourists visited the 700 islands that make up the Bahamas” (Bergsman, 1996: 1). You can also expect to spend anywhere from $10,000-$25,000 securing your Web site in order to keep hackers out of your confidential information, and, today’s sophisticated Web marketers retain a Webmaster who maintains the system and keeps it running smoothly for approximately $25,000-$60,000 per year (McBryant, 1995: 4). Despite these costs, and there are more for Web advertising, Internet marketing is the wave of the future and no serious
