There are many examples of how globalization has a negative impact on women in Third World Countries. In the documentary Made In Thailand, according to filmmakers Eve-Laura Moros Ortega and Linzy Emery, Thai female labor makes up 90% of the labor force in the garment and toy industries (Made 1999). In Made In Thailand the filmmakers portray these factory workers as the invisible casualties of globalization. They are often disconnected from their homelands because these rural areas offer them little way to provide for their families. They move to the city in the hopes of finding employment but instead are met with harsh working conditions and an environment where violation of human rights is the norm.
