Can anyone seriously believe that Microsoft—if the choice were to arrive—would stand up for freedom of expression against profits in China any more than Rupert Murdoch did when he three World Service TV off his Asian satellite?” (Brown 1). Even these kinds of censorship problems would run into difficulty on the Net. If one wanted to apply censorship by limiting access to Altavista, Yahoo or other indexing sites, one would have to have jurisdiction to do so in California where they are based.
