The teacher will start with the following motivational statement: “Over the weekend my grandmother had cataract surgery. When someone has a cataract they have trouble receiving visual images because the lens, the part of the eye that produces clear, sharp images has a cloud-like formation on it. If these formations are left untended, an individual will lose some or a large portion of their ability to see. Today we will explore that anatomy of the eyes in order to discover how the eyes work and why it is critical the eyes remain healthy in order for us to have proper vision to be able to see clearly.” 1. The teacher will illustrate the PowerPoint Presentation to familiarize students with the different parts and different functions of the parts of the eye.
