Perrone deals with a variety of educational issues and categories in an effort to demonstrate the types of teachers, curricula, administration, and community interaction necessary to replace these concerns as the central ones in education. One of the biggest issues he tackles is diversity. Not only does he address student diversity, but he also urges more diversity among educators.
