Abortion is a major sexuality issue for Christians. Prolife groups, as those who are anti-abortion are called, mostly hail from the Christian Right. These groups believe that abortion is the taking of human life rather than the mere elimination of a mass of biological tissue as the pro-choice faction contends. Thousands of pro-life supporters rally in protest of abortion and use scare tactics, such as displaying pictures of well-formed fetuses tossed in metal pans. The most extremist factions even bomb abortion clinics. In the view of fundamental Christian groups, abortion only compounds the sexual sin, and the legalization of abortion was one of the greatest moral blights on the country's governmental and educational leaders. Nor do such Christians favor alternative solutions to abortion such as sex education in the schools or providing teens with access to contraceptives without parental consent. A survey of Protestant church leaders in California found: "Half of the Vineyard pastors and about 70 percent of the Calvary pastors strongly opposed public schools teaching sex education in grades four through eight. In this regard, they were somewhat more conservative than their congregations" (Miller 119). Christians in general believe that abortion has cheapened the value of human life in society by officially declaring that the choice of the mother takes

precedence over her child's right to life.

Another important sexuality issue for Christians involves sexual expression. The sex drive has always been one of mankind's strongest, second only to the survival instinct. Christians maintain that God instituted marriage and designed it for two people of the opposite sex. From as far back in history (for Christians back to Adam and Eve), marriage has been the proper channel for the sex drive, both for the bonding of the husband and wife in love and for the propagation of the human race: "Storie...
