Arab-Americans: Current Experiences

The United States is the greatest democracy in the world and presents itself as a "melting pot" that welcomes all people without discrimination. The issue that will be discussed in this report, to be presented below, is therefore very important.

Statement and Importance of the Problem

The problem that is investigated in this report is stated as the following series of questions: 1) what is the historical experience of Arab and Muslim people in the United States? 2) To what extent do America's foreign policy regarding Israel affect the status of Arab-Americans? 3) What is the contemporary experience of Arab-Americans and Arab or Muslim students in the wake of September 11, 2001? and (4) How do Arab-Americans and Arab and Muslim students on a college or university campus feel they are being treated by non-Arab or non-Muslim peers or by educational or American government employees?
