The European Community (EC) has expanded to 15 member nations and is actively considering the inclusion of several additional member states. The EC already is the world's largest economy (although no single member state of the EC has an economy as large as that of the United States or Japan, collectively the EC is the worlds largest economy). The EC as a whole, therefore, is a market that no MNC can afford to ignore. This factor, thus, is one of importance in the consideration by an MNC of Amsterdam as a location for a subsidiary.
