For the qualitative review of literature, this researcher utilized library databases and the Internet to locate journal articles on the topic of the effects of TV violence on children. The selection of the materials was centered on theories that had been used to explain the relationship between exposure to TV violence and aggression and research studies that examined the complexity of the interaction between child viewers and TV violence. With regard to the focus group discussions, this researcher contacted a local middle school for assistance.
