truck at the heart of my perceptions about the practicum and supervision sessions. As with many students, I feel more self-conscious and anxious when I am supervised in my therapy sessions. At times, I feel torn between following my instincts and complying with my supervisors' instincts. Reading Emerson's (1996) empathetic description of these perceptions makes me realize that I am not alone in this experience. Therefore, I consider her proposal of an alternative model of group supervision that is nurturing and supportive to be a positive contribution to the internship training process.
