I. Five reference books and Web sites as geography resources, other multimedia resources, and how these resources support student learning:

1. The Global Community Web Cites, a UN web site that compares the 185 member nations in four categories: geography, economy, population and social. Found online at: http://www.socialresearch.nu/webcites/globcom.html

2. National mapping information: provides information for parents, students, and teachers. The USGS publishes teaching packets, fact sheets, posters, booklets, leaflets, and brochures about geography. Found online at: http://mapping.usgs.gov/

II. Eighteenth and nineteenth century artists: options, virtual field trip to an art museum, advantages/disadvantages:

The internet can be used to find information regarding art museums, artists, and art works. This reference also provides information regarding virtual tours. For example, The Louvre Museum has a virtual tour (http://www.louvre.fr/louvrea.htm). The National Gallery of Art offers another example of a virtual tour; art works can be searched by title, artist, etc., found at http://www.nga.gov/collection/collect.htm. While these cites offer an amazing amount of information and allow the student to view the art works, they do not provide the experience that can be had by visiting the muse...
