Statics takes the position that individual egoism, boosted by the separation of labor, could jeopardize cohesion in the social fabric. This dichotomous element in society could be managed if the family unit, which is the fundamental social institution, were strengthened. However, if this were to be accomplished, an understanding of the scientific laws regulating society would be necessary.
