When Jesus used the parable of the seeds, he brought forth a very important truth about hearing the gospel and really receiving it. If the seeds or truth are not sown on good ground or comprehended, then the seeds or one's faith will not grow. However, if the seeds are sown on good ground, the seeds will take root and flourish. So it is with faith, but one must be able to take the truth in a comprehending manner. And so Jesus says: "And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundriad..." (Mark 4:20).
