The ABC Day Care Center will be a state licensed; fully insured facility with CPR and basic first aid certified staff. Our mission is to provide a childcare environment staffed by capable and caring individuals who provide a safe, caring and nurturing environment for every child entrusted to our care. ABC will strive to provide the highest quality, developmentally appropriate care for every child.
We are firmly committed to beginning to offer childcare services to the community on September 1, 2005. In order to complete the build out and furnishing of the facility we intend to lease, we will need to begin this process on or before June 1, 2005. Because this industry is heavily regulated, the process necessary to receive our state day care operator's license and city business license is time consuming. Application submission should take place no later than January 1, 2005.
Names of Founders and Functions they Perform:
Amy Adams and Barbara Baker are the founders of ABC Day Care Center. Both are licensed elementary school teachers in this State. When they found that they could not find quality day care for their own preschool age children, they found that there was a chronic shortage of licensed day care centers in this area. Their almost identical experiences of having their names placed on the waiting list at the three licensed facilities in this city caused them to realize that this business opportunity existed.
The number of employees at any licensed day care center is based on a ratio of children to caregivers. This ratio is not static; instead it relates to the age of the children. The younger the children, the lower the child to caregiver ratio will be. ABC Day Care Center expects to have sixty full time children in our care. This is the maximum permitted based on the type of state license we plan to apply for.
