Educational interventions lack studies to show their efficacy; there is limited support for the fact that education is as effective as contingency management strategies in improving behaviors but these may not translate into academic improvements. Multimodal interventions included approaches that dealt with parents, teachers, and significant others. Conclusive evidence to support the use of this type of intervention strategy is lacking, however it has been shown that combination treatments are more effective than one treatment alone and they are superior to stimulant medication alone. Findings from this review support the conclusion that parent education and support are important to consider as part of a combination treatment for ADHD.
