decrease the amount of violence that occurs at the elementary school level. This school prevention program will incorporate principal components that have been regarded as effective interventions for the prevention of school violence: 1) increase student awareness of violent behaviors on campus and its adverse consequences; 2) teach students strategies and skills to counter the negative pressures that can lead to the development of violent behavior; and 3) involve students' parents in the training process through behavioral parent training.
