The following will present a case study, involving a patient suffering from Type II Diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. Patient description and history, pertinent examination, and course of the illness and health problems will be discussed.The patient for this case study is a seventy-one year-old white female. The patient is married and living with her husband. She has five grown children, and five grandchildren, and her parents are deceased. There is no family history of diabetes. The patient is currently unemployed due to her inability to stand, which was required in her previous work situation as a bank teller. She spends her time in the home, unable to climb the stairs to the top floor of her home. She has been most of her life and is currently overweight (obese), and walks with a cane for assistance. She has been routinely examined by her primary physician, and is currently on medication for hypertension and hyperlipedemia. The patient reported that she has been feeling tired for some time, but currently complains of feeling more tired than ever. She sought medical advise, assuming that she was suffering from the flu. She also complained of feeling very thirsty and dry, with dry patches on her skin. She assumed that this was due to the weather or the flu.
