This is an excerpt from the paper...

Cameroon Africa: Economic Analysis Relevant to Establishment of U.S. Satellite University Campus

The following research paper presents an analysis of Cameroon Africa with the purpose of providing information relevant to the establishment of a U.S. satellite university campus in Cameroon. This campus would provide information communication technology training to local citizens.

Cameroon is a developing country located in west central Africa; the capital is Yaounde. U.S. citizens in Cameroon need to be aware that caution is required since all foreigners are targets for theft and violence. The risk of street and residential crime is very high and violence is on the rise. Medical facilities are ill-equipped and limited. Malaria is endemic in Cameroon; some strains are fatal. Cholera and yellow fever are also found. Road conditions are poor, public transportation safety is poor, and there is no roadside assistance. U.S. citizens living or visiting Cameroon need to register at the American Citizen Services section of the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Yaounde or the Embassy Branch Office in Douala (U.S. Department of State, 2004).

The total area of Cameroon includes 183,568.41 square miles which is slightly larger than California. Cameroon Africa includes an estimated (July, 2001) population of 15,803,220. The population estimated for 2050 is 34,662,366. Of the total population, internet users numbered 60,000 as of December, 2002.
