Understanding the Definition of "Best" and "Worst"

The AQR gleans its foundational data from publicly available data published by the Department of Transportation's Office of Aviation Enforcement and Proceedings in its monthly Air Travel Consumer Report. The Air Travel Consumer Report is designed to assist consumers with information on the quality of service provided by the airlines. It is divided into four sections dealing with flight delays, mishandled baggage, oversales (bumpings) and consumer complaints. The 11 areas of consumer complaints are flight problems, customer service, reservations, frequent flyers, refunds, fares, disability, tours, advertising, animals and "other." The report normally is released by the end of the first week of each month and is available via the Internet at http://www.dot.gov/airconsumer.
