Clearly, Traer believes that high hopes can result in at least modest achievements in this area. If books like Traer's are not written, and if modest ecumenical agreements are not made, then the cause of human rights will not be advanced at all with the help of the world religions. Whatever the political or religious bent of the reader, he or she cannot help but be swept up in a feeling of hope when he or she reads:

With this faith men and women of different religious traditions will be able to labor together in the harvest of justice and peace. With this faith religious and secular leaders will be able to join hands and walk together in the long march for freedom,
