Anxiety disorders

characterized by the presence of agoraphobia and the fear of developing panic-like symptoms, but without a history of Panic Attacks.

Specific Phobia: characterized by fear of specific objects or situations. Avoidance behavior often results.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder: characterized by the repeated performance of senseless ritualistic behaviors.

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder: characterized by the repeated reexperiencing of severely traumatic events. Avoidance behavior often results.

Acute Stress Disorder: characterized by symptoms similar to posttraumatic stress disorder, but occurring immediately after the traumatic event and generally persisting for less than a month.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder: characterized by excessive tension and anxiety that persists for at least 6 months.
