A second difficult aspect with respect to the narrative is that the book is not especially well-organized. Chapters begin as if the reader can be assumed to remember all of the major points discussed earlier. There are few attempts to summarize the material that came before the chapter or to overview the basic points that will be made in the chapter one is about to read. This lack of organization makes it difficult to follow the various conceptual threads of the discussion.

As noted previously, the research conducted by Willis (1977) was qualitative in nature which means that it was subject to all of the difficulties and problems that arise when studies are not stringently controlled with respect to extraneous factors that might contribute variance to the responses and reactions being observed.
