New agencies were created to accomplish these tasks and to watch over the programs created to correct the problems of the Depression.

Much of what Roosevelt did in the New Deal to solve the problems of the Depression would continue long after the Depression was corrected. These efforts encouraged the growth of the economy and were used to keep the economy growing after World War II. Some of the programs disappeared, such as the CCC, but some of the practices continued, such as paying farmers to help influence what they would grow and how much they would produce. The Conservatives in the 1930s opposed the New Deal as creating too much government, and this complaint has continued to this day.
