Data on Nutrition
This is an excerpt from the paper...
This chapter of the study presents the findings observed for all analyses conducted on collected data in the areas of knowledge of nutrition, exercise, false health beliefs, the soundness of dietary intake, and the degree to which program participants found the prevention module appealing, interesting, and personally relevant. In addition, the findings observed for some subsidiary, supporting analyses are also presented; these subsidiary findings are related to knowledge of the disease, the degree to which life-style changes have generally been made, and the degree of worry subjects have regarding their condition. All findings are presented in narrative and, where necessary for purposes of elucidation, they are also presented in tabular form. Findings Observed For Knowledge of Nutrition Both the experimental group (the group receiving the Diabetes Prevention Program) and the control group (the group placed on a waiting list) were pretested and posttested for their knowledge of nutrition. The cell and marginal means observed for their knowledge of nutrition scores are presented in Table 3 which presents these means cross-tabulated by the Treatment and Testing variables. The first analysis conducted on the knowledge of nutrition data was a t-test comparison of both groups' pretest scores. The findings observed for this analysis (t = 1.64; df=46; p=.1088) were not significant, establishing that both groups began the

Findings Observed For Life-Style Changes Data
A supplementary variable of interest in the study was the degree to which program participants changed their life-styles as the result of exposure to the Diabetes Prevention Program. Thus, pretest and posttest ratings of the degree of life-style changes made by subjects were collected.
A t-test analysis was then conducted to compare the experimental group's pretest life-style change ratings to their posttest ratings. The findings of this analysis were significant (t = 6.4851; df=23; p<.01). Specifically, find
