Impact of Meditation on Pain in Cancer Patients

As more and more studies are undertaken and published in the medical journals, medical service delivery people will become more aware of their effectiveness. Thus, the research problem examined in this study focused on the use of meditation for alleviating the pain of a sample of cancer patients. Specifically, the study attempted to determine whether a brief "mindfulness meditation technique" reduced the perceived pain intensity of a sample of cancer patients, all of which were currently patients in the Oncology Ward at Montefiore Hospital.
