This technological achievement has created "a workforce, from delivery truck drivers to corporate executives, that views computing as a normal part of everyday work (Bloomfield & Coombs, 1992, 462).
Such is the case at AM. The company has inherited a legacy system that uses five mainframes serving some 100 employees. However, there is no connectivity between the mainframes, nor between the mainframes and employees from other departments. After thorough study, it is determined that the adoption of an Intranet/Internet program would be not only satisfactory but profitable.
