In March 1995, CADBY acquired the remaining shares of the American company Dr. Pepper/Seven Up for $1.7 billion (the company had a 25 percent stake in Dr. Pepper prior to the acquisition). The acquisition of Dr. Pepper/Seven Up should prove a good move for Cadbury Schweppes since non-colas are gaining market share in the American soft drink market.
