Section Summary. In summary then, African-American graduate and professional school students are experiencing a slight increase in enrollment following a strong decline. However, there are certain majors which are not attracting black students. Indications are that the situation could be helped if faculty and administration provided more encouragement and helped students to have better socialization experiences in the campus environment. This last fact leads to the question of whether the socialization experiences needed by African American students might be better at historically Black colleges than at predominately white colleges? The next section of the review examines the colleges experiences of African American students at predominately white colleges.
