This is where the Getty Internship program fits into my goals. As a Getty Intern, I would have a unique opportunity to be educated in the world's artistic tradition and the contributions that many cultures have made to that tradition, while at the same time being exposed to new people, new challenges, and a range of practical skills and situations. This knowledge and experience is something I could then take back with me to the communities in which I work, to share with people of diverse background. Many of them may now know of the Getty only as a name, and imagine that it has nothing to do with their lives and dreams.
