A good food source of vitamin E contains a substantial amount of vitamin E in relation to its caloric content and contributes at least 10 percent of the U.S. RDA in a selected serving size. The government emphasizes that most people get a sufficient amount of vitamin E in their daily nutrition without the need of any supplements. According to figures from 1985-1986, 27 percent of the vitamin E in the diets of women came from grain products and 22 percent from fruits and vegetables.
