ere Stephie became Kleinfeld's girlfriend. The sequence begins when Kleinfeld and Stephie have sex in the men's restroom. Kleinfeld is unable to control the increased desire that is an associated feature of cocaine abuse and engages in promiscuous sexual behavior.
As the sequence continues with the next scene in the bar, Kleinfeld openly takes cocaine--he has progressed from the point of using in private to indulging himself in public. Later, Kleinfeld pulls a gun out and sticks it in the face of Benny Blanco. This demonstrates impaired judgment and impaired social functioning. Typical of cocaine addicts, Kleinfeld exhibits overly aggressive behavior. In a following scene in Carlito's office, Carlito tries to take the gun away from Kleinfeld. Of course, Kleinfeld refuses to give up the gun.
