The controls that are in place are adequate, although not exhaustive, and the accounting department is meeting its objectives of providing accurate information to its users. There are a number of areas in which the system could be improved, however, and these areas encompass both system and manual processes. The remainder of this research examines how changes could be implemented which would improve the overall performance of the system and the overall efficiency of the accounting department.
