The author correctly says that we should not see the "feminine" as a quality present only in women, any more than we should see men as the only possessors of "masculine" qualities. In other words, every human being possesses some masculine and feminine qualities. Still, it is clear that women in general have more feminine qualities than men.

The bulk of her book is clearly addressed to women in an effort to encourage them to discover, acknowledge and proudly express the feminine side of themselves.
