The program partners with 27 different colleges and universities, giving the soldier the opportunity to earn a certificate, associate, bachelor or master's degree from a home institution (About eArmy U). The student takes courses from a variety of colleges, but the degree is from one college. The distance courses may be completed anytime and anywhere around the globe, and the soldiers receive up to 100 percent funding for tuition, books and course fees, as well as a personal laptop, email account, and an Internet Service Provider (About eArmyU). The student also has access to 24-hour technical support and assistance in deciding upon a course of study. The Navy offers a similar program, partnering with sixteen colleges to offer sailors an opportunity to complete full degree programs using e-learning (Charp, 2001, p.10)..
