Discrimination in Education

(Famularo, 1996) multi-culturalism is placing its emphasis on racist and cultural bias that it claims to be combating. It's very nature suggests an inability of the student from a different background to compete. The student has not even been tested or interviewed, yet is being placed into a program that may well be preventing him from making the most of his skills. With or without cultural differences, every student is going to have different needs and skills as they enter the classroom. The important thing is that the educator acknowledges and accepts these differences and goes on to provide the education that they so richly deserve.

In fact, the vast majority of assumptions based on race tend to be incorrect.
