Some of the symptoms of bulimia include:
1. Recurrent episodes of binge eating;
2. A feeling of lack of control over eating behavior;
4. Minimum average of two binge episodes per week for three months;
5. Persistent overconcern with body shape and weight (Kinoy and Holman, 1992).
Bulimia and anorexia are both listed in the DSM as eating disorders with a psychological basis, although there is also recognition of the physiological component.
