Another reason that diversity will be achieved in education and in the workplace if left to the free market system is that business leaders are beginning to understand the benefits of a diverse workforce in appealing to consumers. Businesses now require the language skills and cultural understanding of diverse groups of individuals in order to take advantage of the increase of minorities in the country and their buying power. Companies are able to increase revenue and expand markets through the employment and promotion of minority workers. If the free market is left alone, it will respond to the growing need for a diverse workforce without being forced to pass over more qualified candidates in the rush to meet inflexible quotas.
