Determinists would pay close attention to the fact that Stan, Kyle and Kenny were all adoptees. They would look into the adoption and attempt to decide what effect this may have had on the boys' self-perception and perception by others. They would also consider any possible impact of the boys' shared genetics and the fact that the boys are separated from each other, even though they were unaware of it. Determinists would likely take these factors and argue that Kenny and Kyle were unable to do anything other than participate in the burglary because their lives had predetermined their criminality.
